About
MUSH stands for "Multi-User Shared Hallucination." On the surface a MUSH behaves
like one of those text-based adventures that were popular in the 1980's. It's made
up of rooms, exits and objects, and they all go together to make up the 'virtual
world'. However, there are two main differences between a text adventure and a MUSH:
1: MUSHes are Multi-User - you're not alone in the world.
2: MUSHes are user-extendable - that means you can build you own rooms, make objects
and create puzzles for other people to explore.
Some people also use MUSHes to Role Play. A MUX is, for all intents and purposes,
a MUSH with a different
name.
